Update:
Croydon Shire Council's Community Challenge Raised Thousands for RFDS!

This year's Croydon Shire Council Community Challenge fundraising will go towards the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) so that everyone living in rural, remote, and regional Australia has access to medical aid, emergency services, and other vital healthcare support.

We did not count how many people attended; some registered but didn’t attend, and some attended but did not register. All in all, there was great participation from the community, with a wave of white starting at Anzac Park and ending 5 kilometres later at the lake, with an explosion of colour. The rain stopped just in time to commence the walk. There was a breakfast reward at the end with sausage sizzle, yogurt, and fresh fruit for all participants.

There were participants of all ages, from babies in prams to our senior citizens. Our friendly bus driver was more than happy to transport everyone back to town after the event.

Council's initial fundraising goal was set at $500, but the total raised amount is an outstanding $4,190.00. This remarkable achievement is particularly noteworthy for a small community like Croydon, highlighting the incredible generosity and support from residents, businesses, and volunteers who rallied together for a worthy cause.

If anyone has a charity close to their heart that they would like Council to consider for the 2025 Croydon Community Challenge, please contact Courtney on 47487130 or email [email protected].

Thank you to EVERYONE who made this year's challenge a resounding success!
