  • Council requires a Qualified Mechanic/Diesel Fitter to join our workforce to support Council delivering an effective and efficient mechanical service to ensure all Council fixed and mobile plant, equipment and vehicle fleet is maintained in a safe, cost effective and operational manner and to provide leadership and mentoring to plant operator/s, trainees and apprentices.

    The successful candidate will undertake tasks within the Workshop and field work on Council sites.

    This is a permanent position within Councils workforce.. 

    Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor you will be working alongside and supporting the development of one  apprentice.

  • Part Time Cleaner - Croydon Caravan Park

    Reporting to the Caravan Park Managers this part-time position supports Council’s busy Caravan Park in maintiaining the premises to a high standard to maintain a quality visitor experience for all our guests. Responsibilities include:

    1. Cleaning duties which include, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors, window cleaning, dusting and wiping down surfaces, removal of cobwebs, rubbish removal, washing/laundry, folding, cleaning and maintaining toilets and showers to an appropriate standard of cleanliness internally and externally.
    2. Cleaning Rooms/Cabins including appliances such as Microwaves, Fridges, TV’s etc. changing of bedding and towels.
    3. Cleaning of public use areas such as BBQ’s, camp kitchen, and other common areas.
    4. Ensure areas being cleaned are maintained in a secure state. Maintain security awareness and report all suspicious activities to Council.
    5. Assisting Caravan park guests and visitors with their enquiries or requests for assistance.

    Skills / Experience Required: To be successful in the role, you will need a:

    1. Knowledge and experience in all aspects of cleaning.
    2. Physically able to carry out duties in challenging climatic conditions.
    3. Be self-motivated and have excellent time management, planning and organisational skills.
    4. Ability to work under limited direction and supervision and maintain a friendly and helpful work attitude.

  • Croydon Shire Council invites applications for the permanent HR Officer position to support supports Council’s Human Resources functions, including end-to-end recruitment and HR administration.   • Casual Tourism Officer - Weekends only

    Reporting to the Manager Tourism and Marketing this casual position supports Council’s direction to promote the tourism potential of Croydon Shire, promote the True Blue Visitor Information Centre and Heritage Precinct in a professional and efficient manner and present a positive image of Council and Croydon. To promote the Croydon Shire region and local businesses to visitors and residents through the provision of accurate and comprehensive information.

  • Croydon Shire Council invites applications are invited for the position of Swimming Pool Attendant for the Croydon swimming pool. This casual or part time osition may be a job share arrangement to suit the needs of Council and the opening hours of the facility which includes weekends.
    The person must be motivated and enthusiastic, have excellent customer service and communication skills. This position will be responsible for the high standard of supervision of the facility, efficient and effective day to day operations, provision of community activities, cleaning of amenities, storage areas, pool and pool surrounds, grounds and water testing.

    Mandatory qualifications include:

    • Pool Life Guard Certificate
    • Current First Aid and CPR
    • Current Working with Children Blue Card

  • Croydon Shire Council is seeking the services of an Early Childhood Teacher to work with the Croydon Childcare Centre. 

    The Early Childhood Teacher will need to work with the service for at least 20 percent of the time that the service provides education and care, this calculates to 8.5 hours per week. Under the Education and Care Services National Regulations the Early Childhood Teacher may be working with the service by means of information communication technology which may be calculated on a quarterly basis. The service is licensed for 21 approved places.
