Croydon Freedom Camping

Our campground operates on donation basis as is greatly appreciated. It helps us to keep it the area nice and tidy for you. :)

Nestled within Croydon's scenic surrounds, our Freedom Camping Area offers a convenient and accessible location for nomads and travelers seeking a genuine outback experience. Next to the Rodeo Grounds, 2 Allridge Street, Croydon. This camping spot is located approximately 1km from the town's centre and backs on the Croydon Golf Course. Camping is only allowed by permit. Get your permit at the True Blue Visitor Information Centre. If after hours please fill in a self-registration form at the fron to the VIC. Please put your registration form and donation into the letterbox.

Wake up to the sounds of nature and witness the breathtaking outback sunrise or sunset—the kind that paints the sky in hues of orange, pink, and gold. The Croydon region is rich in diverse flora and fauna, providing an immersive experience for nature lovers and avid bird watchers.

Guidelines for Responsible Camping:

- Maximum stay of 2 nights per vehicle,
- Suitable for all vehicles and caravan sizes, Rubbish bins are not provided, please take your rubbish with you, if you are a pet owner, please consider others and pick up what your pet left behind.
- Pet must kept on lead at all times.
- Campfires are not permitted.
- Please keep the camping area clean and leave not trace so the next camper will be happy too.
- Refuse Facility - Continue along Allridge Street, past the Freedom camping area and cemetery, directions can be fond on the town map.
- Dump Point - located at the Croydon Caravan Park, access is from outside of the park via Allridge Street.
- Washing of any type of vehicle is not permitted - Croydon Shire Council is currently operation under Level 1 water restrictions.
