Maintenance and Works Supervisor

Croydon Shire Council is seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance and Works Supervisor to lead the delivery of essential infrastructure and town maintenance services across the Shire. This role is central to maintaining safe, reliable services and ensuring Croydon’s public spaces and infrastructure are presented to a high standard for residents and visitors.

Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, the Maintenance and Works Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of Council’s Water Treatment Plant, while leading a diverse team delivering town maintenance, open space management and heritage building upkeep.

The role also contributes to the planning and delivery of capital works and grant-funded projects. It requires a balance of operational oversight, project coordination and team leadership, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with regulatory standards.

This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in maintaining essential services that directly support the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee operation of the Water Treatment Plant and water quality compliance
  • Lead town maintenance, open spaces and infrastructure upkeep
  • Coordinate works programs, projects and contractor activities
  • Ensure safe, efficient and compliant service delivery

Skills & Experience Required

  • Demonstrated experience in water operations, infrastructure maintenance or a relevant trade
  • Proven leadership and team supervision experience
  • Strong understanding of safety, compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a hands-on environment
  • Certificate III in Water Operations or relevant trade qualification (desirable)
  • Current C Class Driver Licence
