Working under the direction of the Workshop Leading Hand, you will play a vital role in maintaining Council's fleet of heavy vehicles, earthmoving equipment and mobile plant. You'll also help mentor and support an apprentice, passing on valuable skills and experience to the next generation.

About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing Council's heavy vehicles, earthmoving equipment and mobile plant, while ensuring a safe and efficient workshop environment.
Key responsibilities include:
• Servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles, earthmoving equipment and mobile plant.
• Diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Supporting safe workshop operations and maintenance practices.
• Assisting with parts sourcing and associated clerical requirements.
• Providing leadership, mentoring and training to apprentices and trainees.
• Undertaking workshop and field-based mechanical work across Council operations.
About You
To be successful in this role you will possess:
• A relevant Trade Certificate.
• A minimum of three years' post-trade experience.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles, earthmoving equipment and mobile plant.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Sound literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience maintaining safe work practices.
• Previous experience supervising or mentoring apprentices.

Croydon Shire Council offers an attractive total remuneration package valued at approximately $103,000 per annum, including:
• Base salary from $88,000 per annum.
