Boil Water Alert – Croydon Township
23 October 2025
Croydon Shire Council advises all residents to boil tap water used for drinking following the detection of traces of E. coli affecting the Croydon town water supply.
Council is working closely with Queensland Health to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. Residents are urged to share this alert with neighbours and friends.
The Boil Water Alert will remain in effect until Council and Queensland Health are confident there is no longer a public health concern. Regular updates will be provided to the community.
Consuming unboiled water could lead to illness, particularly for vulnerable people such as the very young, elderly, or those with weakened immune systems. If you believe the water has made you sick, contact 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) or the Croydon Primary Health Care Centre (07) 4748 7000 and advise them of your concerns.
