Croydon and surrounding districts—including Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields & Upper Flinders, North West, Channel Country, and Maranoa & Warrego—are experiencing a severe heatwave from Tuesday 21 to Friday 24 October.
Stay Safe:

Heatwaves can be risky for older people, young children, pregnant women, and those with health conditions.

Safety Advice
- Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
- Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
- Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
- If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
Weather Situation
Maximum temperatures in the high thirties to the mid forties and overnight minimum temperatures in the mid to high twenties. The heat is expected to continue building over the next few days then slowly contract northwards later this week.
