Celebrating 140 Years of Stories, Culture and Community in Croydon
20–26 June 2026 

The countdown is on to the 2026 Croydon Heritage Festival, taking place from 20–26 June.

This year, Croydon celebrates 140 years since the discovery of gold that transformed the town into one of Queensland's most significant gold rush settlements. Join us for seven days of heritage, culture, entertainment and community celebrations as we honour our past and bring our stories to life.

With almost all events FREE, there has never been a better time to experience Croydon.

Festival Highlights

• Opening Night Celebration featuring live music by Becci Nethery, a Free dinner (limited to 60 seats - first come, first served), Heritage Attire Competition, Croydon: The Story film screening and major prize draws

• Heritage Attire Competition with prizes for best Dressed Kids, Best Dressed Couple/Family and The Heritage Star

• Croydon Time Trail — an immersive heritage experience combining historical information, rare photographs and interactive digital storytelling

• Free guided walking tours through Croydon and the historic Chinese Temple site

• Tagalaka Day and yarning at Lake Belmore on 25 June

• Gold Coin Draw featuring real gold coin valued at $205

• Community activities, social events and entertainment throughout the week

• Closing Night Celebration at the Rodeo Grounds featuring live music by Branded Men, FREE closing dinner (limited to 60 seats - first come, first serve), the final Gold Coin Draw and major prize draws

Forever Golden Tour

The Forever Golden Tour aboard the Gulflander on 25 June from 8.30am to 12pm is the festival's only ticketed event.

Bookings are essential through the Croydon Visitor Information Centre.
