Croydon Shire Council is seeking a motivated and reliable Part Time Stores Officer to join our team, supporting the efficient delivery of Council’s logistics and inventory operations.

The Stores Officer is responsible for implementing Council’s policies and procedures to ensure effective stock control, purchasing, and stores operations. Duties include managing stock and supplies, maintaining accurate inventory records, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring materials are available to support Council’s services and projects. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and effectively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage stock and inventory in line with Council policies

  • Maintain accurate records and reporting

  • Operate forklifts, plant, and equipment safely

  • Provide logistics support to Council projects and teams

  • Work collaboratively with suppliers, staff, and stakeholders

Skills & Experience Required

  • Current Queensland ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence (manual). ‘HR’ Class desirable

  • General Construction Industry Induction (White Card)

  • Current High-Risk Licence to operate a Forklift

  • Certificates of competency for other plant/machinery (desirable)

  • Experience in stores, purchasing, logistics or Local Government (desirable)

  • Sound literacy, numeracy, and computer skills

  • Strong organisational and communication skills
