Drinking Water Alert Lifted

Croydon Shire Council (Council) advises all residents in Croydon that tap water used for drinking is now safe to consume.

This notice applies to all residents in Croydon from 18 March 2019.

There is no longer a public health concern over the quality of drinking water, and it is now considered safe for all typical uses including drinking, use in food or beverages, personal washing, dishwashing, laundry purposes and flushing toilets.

Council has worked closely with Queensland Health to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. A program of flushing, further testing and sampling have been taken to protect the safety of the drinking water. Both agencies will continue to closely monitor the situation.

Residents should flush out affected water from the pipes in their home.

Residents are urged to share this notice with neighbours and friends.
