Mining Museum

Photos: Relics of Croydon’s glorious past mining history are scattered throughout the surrounds of the community.  Original Miners Cottage reconstructed on the Mining Museum Reserve.

On the outskirts of the town area, situated on what originally was the Iguana Mine Site, is an interesting Mining Museum which boasts:

  • A restored 10 head gold mining stamper;
  • Miner’s hut which was the home of the Bing Chew family, descendents of original Chinese immigrants;
  • Wide variety of historic mining equipment & relics of the 1900 era.

    Entry is Free and the site is Open all year round, facilities include Toilets.
