Q150 Funding

Croydon Shire Council has received funding from the Queensland Government to build a tourism complex in Croydon.

Council will receive $250,000 through the Legacy Infrastructure Program, a $100 million capital works project to create legacies for Queensland's 150th anniversary in 2009.

Member for Mount Isa Betty Kiernan MP and Mr Phil Reeves MP, Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier, visited the site to present a cheque to Croydon Shire Council and inspect the work completed to date on the site.

The new tourism complex will capture the towns political, sporting, agricultural, multicultural and mining heritage and will also house displays and exhibitions that celebrate the Gulf Savannah region.  This project will provide a lasting tribute to the history of the Croydon community.
